CHRISTMAS FOR CHILDREN:
|
|
Once again we are partnering with the Navy Point School in Pensacola to provide some Christmas presents for elementary school children. We have a list of about 60 children for whom we hope to buy some clothes and a toy. We'll be collecting gifts from now until December 10th. If you want to help, contact Bill Cutler at williamcutler@gmail.com and he'll provide you with the name of a child and the size of clothing or toy desired. Be a Santa's helper!
If you prefer to make a financial donation for us to buy gifts for the children instead of shopping, please make a check out to The Beach Church with a designation for "Navy Point Angel Tree." Thank you!
|
Here’s how to participate in our Angel Tree for Navy Point Elementary School:
1. Buy a gift at a local store or online. If you aren’t sure what something is (like an LOL Doll) look it up online and you’ll probably find it! For clothes we are looking for basics, like a top and pants. If you are unsure of the child’s gender, get something either a girl or boy would wear.
2. DO NOT WRAP the gift but for each card place the gifts in a large gift bag with the child’s card firmly attached.
3. Bring the gift to church and leave it in the gift box in the entryway. All gifts must be brought in in by Sunday, December 10th.
4. If you have questions, contact Bill Cutler at
203 710 2454 or williamcutler@gmail.com
THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN CHRISTMAS AT NAVY POINT!

MUSIC
Kathi Cutler has volunteered to coordinate and lead music for the church until the end of the year. As part of that, you are invited to become part of a small choir or ensemble! Kathi has a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from Florida State University and has led multiple choral groups in schools and churches. If you want to get involved, please contact her at kathicutler@aol.com. We look forward to more music to enrich our worship!

Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the Savior, by the healed to the Healer, and by the delivered to the Deliverer. In offering worship not only do we honor the God we love, it is also part of taking care of ourselves.

4th Quarter Congregational Meeting/Election

Call for Candidates!

GOD IS ASKING YOU. And the Beach Church is asking you. We have open positions for the 2024 Council and a couple of ministry teams. Please search your heart if you would like to help the church a little more as we look to the new year. See open positions below and please ask Kathy Young, Rev. Jim or Gordon Paulus if you have any questions.
Taking a more active role can often seem daunting. But isn’t that what faith is?
The open Council positions that will be voted on for 2024 are:
Worship Ministry
Buildings and Grounds Ministry
(2) At-large members (as required by our newly revised Bylaws)
In addition, we need to fill the lead positions for the Compassionate Care Committee and the Education Committee.
Questions regarding the specific responsibilities for these positions should be directed to the Nominating Committee after worship or via email to pnsbeachchurch@att.net.

WANT TO SERVE?
Worship is not a spectator sport! Here are some ways you can contribute to the worship experience of our church:
We need people to work as a pair to set up for communion which we celebrate every other Sunday. That involves preparing the bread and juice ahead of time, setting the communion table, distributing the elements along with the pastor, and cleaning up afterwards. The expectation is that each pair would be responsible once a month or every other month.
Various people have been contributing as readers and greeters over the past several months, doing so once every 8-10 weeks. Would you like to read too?
If you would like to participate in either of these ways, please contact Bill Cutler at williamcutler@gmail.com.

Lunch fellowship Bible study with Pastor Jim Coyl continues
Join us as we gather to engage with author and pastor Tim Keller in an eight-week, videobased study of the gospel and how to live it out in everyday life. In Week One you and your group will study the city, our home now—the world, that is. Week Eight closes with the theme of the eternal city, our heavenly home—the world that is to come. In between, you’ll learn how the gospel changes our hearts, our community, and how we live in this world. Gospel in Life is an invitation to all who seek to live the message of Jesus right here and right now…in our hearts, in our homes, and in the community around us. We will meet at 12:00 on Wednesdays in Randle Hall From October 11 thru November 29. Refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your lunch.
Session titles: City - The World That Is Heart - Three Ways to Live Idolatry - The Sin Beneath Community - The Context for Change Session Witness - An Alternate City Session Work - Cultivating the Garden Session Justice - A People for Others Session Eternity - The World That Is To Come

A Note from Interfaith Ministries:
The road construction on Gulf Breeze Pkwy. has presented problems for many, and we have not escaped them. Our Thrift Store donations and sales are down which we believe are due to travel conditions on Hwy. 98. Thrift Store sales provide our core funding along with the monetary donations from your organizations. This is the money used to provide services, (i.e., utilities, rent/mortgage assistance, gas, etc.) for struggling members of our community.
