Letter from the Council President:
Eggs, eggs, eggs (and candy). It’s time to get ready for the church’s annual Easter Egg hunt, which will be 9 a.m., Saturday, April 8. WE NEED EGGS (not the real, expensive kind!) and bags of individually wrapped candy, which can go into the eggs. So throughout March when you are at the store, please pick up a couple of bags of plastic eggs and 1 bag of candy and bring it to the church on Sundays.
Full Moon Fellowship. Our first FMF will be next Tuesday, March 7. Show up around 5:30 p.m. at Ron and Dale Hensley’s place at 1755 Ensenada Dos on Pensacola Beach. The full room will rise around 6 p.m., then everyone can leave – or stay! Bring your own lawn chair/snacks/beverages. There will be a restroom on the ground level.
More church happenings: Coming on the heels of a successful Tech 101 event, as well as the potluck/trivia night, the church is becoming more vibrant. We had a booth at the annual Snowbirds Bash in January. We’re so glad to welcome 4 new members last week! Holy Week culminates with a sunrise service at the Boardwalk and the Easter Service at 9 a.m.
Bylaws committee: The committee of Bunny Branan, Tom Stout, Kathy Young and I had our second meeting this week. To update the bylaws, we also have to update the church’s Articles of Incorporation. That involves legal help and the church council approved having Emmanual, Shepard and Condon help us with that. Later this year, we’ll have an info session to share the proposed bylaw changes to the congregation, then schedule a congregational vote.
Pastoral relations committee. The success of the church is fostering a loving, working relationship with its members and the pastor. The Beach Church has a pastoral relations committee that meets quarterly with Pastor Jim to discuss any concerns he has or that church members have. The committee includes chair Steve Speirs, Jackie Trout and Chuck Randle. You are welcome to contact any of them.
And feel free to contact me gordonpaulus@hotmail.com or 850-525-7510 with any questions/ideas/thoughts. Our next council meeting will be Tuesday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m.
Yours in Christ,
Gordon Paulus

The Pensacola Beach Community Church and The Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival along with Vet Church present: The Sacred Stories of Song Series (a First Friday of the month event: March 3, June 2, July 7, August 4, September 1, November 3) These events will take place from 6pm till 8pm in the main auditorium of the Pensacola Beach Community Church. This is a listening room acoustic music event and will be treated accordingly. The format will include 1-3 musicians sharing songs and stories. This will be an intimate experience where songwriters will share the unique stories behind songwriting and playing on the road. Schedule: 5:30 pm doors open to the General Public 5:55 pm 5 minute warning call to silence phones and take seats 6:00 pm call to prayer 6:02 pm musical program commences 8:00 pm musical program ends. The purpose of The Sacred Stories of Song Series is to promote healing and love through music. In a world of fast paced processed living, the opportunity to sit and listen to songwriters in a quiet and protected environment has become harder and harder to find. The idea of a First Friday series is that each month begins with an opportunity to celebrate and experience art. The Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival has been bringing songwriters to the beach for years. The Pensacola Beach Community Church believes that Art is integral to healthy living both spiritually and physically. Vet Church was formed with the intent to promote the sacredness of story through many art forms beginning with music. These three non-profit entities have come together to bring a constant awareness to the sacredness of the personal story. All the invited Artists are accomplished songwriters who believe in the power of music, the importance of songs and the sacredness of each individual story. The Sacred Stories of Song Series will be an uplifting and positive experience. Pensacola Beach Community Church will provide the venue. Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival will manage the artist lineup. Tip Jar will be featured with all proceeds going to the performing Artists. Vet Church will also pay the Performing Artists and provide the sound system.

Show up around 5:30 p.m., we’ll fellowship and watch the moon rise around 6 p.m., then fellowship for a little while longer. Bring a lawn chair and your own snacks. A restroom is available on the ground level. If it’s a success, we’ll meet for other full months during the year at a different location. See you then!!
