Potluck/trivia/music/full moon. We’ve got some exciting events planned as we work to get together as a church family other than just on Sunday mornings.
It starts Friday, Feb. 3, with a potluck/trivia night at 5 p.m. in Randle Hall. Bring your favorite dish, then around 6 p.m., we’ll play trivia and be done by 7 p.m. At the same time, the VetChurch will be having a musical presentation in the sanctuary.
I’m excited to announce Full Moon Fellowship. On March 7, we will gather together somewhere on the beach to watch the full moon rise. We’ll start around 5:30; bring your own snacks/chairs. The full moon will rise around 6 p.m. then we can continue to visit. We’ll announce the location later.
Bylaws committee: The council has formed a committee to update your bylaws. The committee includes Bunny Branan, Tom Stout, Kathy Young and me. The plan is to make updates, have an info meeting with church members to share/gather feedback, then present to a congregation vote, hopefully in the first half of the year.
Beach House sale update. I want to clarify about the sale of the beach house “as is.” What that means is it will be up to the buyer to decide if they want to restore part of the property that is now a section of the church parking lot and drive entrance or leave it like it is now.
Super Bowl grid. Chuck Randle has brought back the Super Bowl grid. Buy a square (or several squares) for $10 each donation. Half the funds will go to the church. The grid will be available after service the next 2 Sundays. Go Eagles or Go Chiefs!
Congregational meeting. Thanks to those who attended the congregational meeting after church on Jan. 29. You unanimously approved the 2022 reports from church leaders and the ministry teams, as well as the 2022 treasurer’s reports.
February council meeting. Because of Mardi Gras activities, we are moving the February council meeting from Feb. 21 to Feb. 28 at 5:30 p.m. in Randle Hall. If you have an idea/question/concern about the church, please feel free to call me at 850-525-7510 or you can email me at gordonpaulus@hotmail.com.
Yours in Christ,
Gordon Paulus
