Updates

LIASON: Remember that The Beach Church and Upper Room have open communication with regular liaison meetings as well as email and texts. Please bring up any concerns to PBCC members of the liaison team (Les Solymossy, Steve Spiers, Dale Hensley) or the church office so that they can be addressed by the team.

BLUE MOON FELLOWSHIP: Our next full moon fellowship get-together will be Tuesday, Aug. 29 at the Hensley's’ place. It’s actually the day before the full moon, but the moon rises on Tuesday before 7 p.m. instead of later so we’re going to meet at 6 p.m.

BYLAWS: The council is reviewing the bylaws proposal from the committee and plans to have an information meeting with the congregation in October before we hold a vote to change them.

COUNCIL: Our next council meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 5:30 p.m. in Randle Hall. Members of the congregation are always welcome. Please email me at gordonpaulus@hotmail.com or call 850-525-7510 if you need to reach me.

Zoom Book Group!

Since May several of us have formed a book group that gathers via Zoom.  Besides the value of talking about thoughtful Christian books together, it’s a great way to connect with, pray for and support one another.

For our next round, we’ll be reading two books which deal with issues of loss and mortality, realities that impact us all.  We’d love to have you join us!  If you want to do so, please let Bill Cutler know (williamcutler@gmail.com).

We’ll read the books on our own in September and then meet via Zoom on Monday, October 9th to talk about them.   You can order the books on Amazon or other sellers.  They are:

The Lost Art of Dying: Reviving Forgotten Wisdom  by Lydia Dugdale MD

Lose, Love, Live by Dan Moseley

A Note from Interfaith Ministries:

We are so appreciative that your congregations have given so generously out of their own abundance in the past month. Due to that generosity our pantry shelves are full of canned and dry food at the moment.

For September, we are in need of:

Paper goods – paper towels and toilet tissue

Meats- 1# packages of ground beef, small packages of pork or chicken, hot dogs

Monetary donations are always appreciated for meats, also.

Donations may be sent to:

Interfaith Ministries Food Pantry, 4339 Gulf Breeze Parkway, GB 32563

Volunteers Needed!

Two vital community resources, the Interfaith Ministries Thrift Store and the Alfred Washburn Center, are both in need of volunteers on a regular basis. For more information and links to sign up, please see the "Serve With Us" section of our website by scrolling to the bottom of the homepage.

Simple words. Great Promise.

Your support of The Beach Church allows us to

keep moving forward, strengthening our future.

We thank each and every one of you for your continued sacrificial gifts.

Please know that they are extremely meaningful as we reopen,

and they are helping us spread the message of Christ

within our beach community, and surrounding areas.

You've made this possible, and we

THANK YOU!

See you on Sunday!
